My Core Values

Recently I attended a seminar about discovering your core values, the non-negotiables in life that define who you are . They are the traits that no matter what, can’t be changed. At the conclusion of the presentation, I took the speaker’s assessment to see my core values, eager to discover how my core values shape my approach to my business. And when I saw the results, I was not surprised that mine were: family, learning, community, adventure and authenticity.

Family:
Family is the cornerstone in my life. And I believe that any time you can spend with your family is special, especially as your family ages. This is one of the reasons that I love to plan multi-generational vacations. Whether parents are whisking their adult children away, grandparents are embarking on adventures with their grandchildren or multiple generations are celebrating special occasions, reunions or just because, these vacations provide the perfect opportunity to build lasting memories.

Learning:
I love to learn new things and I am constantly taking classes, zooming on webinars and attending travel events to educate myself about the travel business. By keeping up with trends in the business, learning about new travel partners and actually traveling, I am better able to help my clients with their travel decisions.

Community:
Being part of a community is so important to me. When we moved to Washington a few years ago, I looked for places that I could get involved to feel like I belong. Through Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and my synagogue, I worked hard to have places where I feel “at home”. I am also lucky that professionally with my host agency, Gifted Travel Network, I have a professional community that is there for me to support and enhance my business.

Adventure:
It goes without saying that adventure is a huge part of my life. I recently said to Steve that I think our move to Washington opened us up to more adventures. Our cross-country drive started the adventure and since our move, not only did I start my travel business, but we have been to Alaska, Greece, Italy, China and places in the Caribbean and the USA together and I have been to various part of Europe on my own. And we have cruised and taken rail trips.Since adventure is so important to me, I love to help others plan wonderful adventures to enhance their lives.

Authenticity:
Each week I write this newsletter as my authentic self, putting myself out there for everyone to get to know me better. By discussing my family, travels and things that are important to me, I allow my readers to get to know me on a personal level. It is my hope that my clients and prospective clients can truly understand the kind of person I am and allows them to feel comfortable and trust me so we can work to create wonderful adventures together.
