Passion Driven Travel
When Bailey and I walk or when I am in the car, I listen to podcasts. I enjoy podcasts about business and self-improvement. And this past week, I listened to a podcast that talked about pursuing your passions. This got me thinking about passion driven travel, pursuing your interests and passions while traveling to fun & exciting places.
Food & Wine Travel:
There are so many ways to pursue your passion for food and wine while traveling. I have taken many food and wine tours when visiting different cities both domestically and abroad. There are travel companies and cruise lines that specialize in food and wine, where you not only eat and drink but you shop and prepare your food with the locals or renowned chefs. And don’t forget visiting food festivals. I have attended the South Beach Food & Wine Festival a few times in Miami, where I was not only treated to great food & wine, but I also got to meet chefs and watch them do live food demos.
Finding Your Roots:
You heard the stories growing up about where your family came from and now it may be time to visit those places. Heritage travel involves researching your family’s roots and visiting the places where your ancestors lived. You can meet distant relatives, visit gravesites, immerse yourself in the local culture and learn about your history.
Music & Festivals:
Do you have a favorite musician or a type of music you love? Have you considered being a groupie for a few weeks? My daughter and her friend followed their favorite musician to Europe this summer and had a blast. Not only did they see him play, but they got to visit a few cities along the way.
Sports:
Whether your passion is seeing your favorite sports team play, attending Wimbledon or even the Olympics next year in Paris, people enjoy traveling for sports. Steve loves to visit major league baseball stadiums so when we travel to different cities in the U.S.A. in the summer, it is an added bonus if we can see a game. I like the food and he likes the game, so it all works out for us!
