Las Vegas: More than just Casinos

Spending the afternoon playing bingo at the Gold Coast Casino

Here is my list of fun things to do in Vegas (in no particular order)

  1. Eat & Drink
There is no shortage of restaurants and bars in Vegas, depending on what you like to eat. Each time I go, I always eat at different places. Some of my favorites are Joe’s Seafood , Prime Steak and Stone Crab and Prime in Caesar’s Palace, Giada’s Restaurant in The Cromwell Hotel, Fresco Italiano in Westgate Hotel and Hell’s Kitchen in Caesar’s Palace . If you have a sweet tooth, do not miss Carlos Bakery in The Venetian and my favorite Ghiradelli’s Chocolate on Las Vegas Blvd.

  2. Live Shows
Over the years I have seen many shows. I have seen comedians at The Comedy Cellar at the Rio Hotel, Penn & Teller at the Rio Hotel, Barry Manilow (yes I am a Fanalow), Cirque de Soleil and just this weekend, Jeff Dunham. We also participated in a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater called: Marriage Can Be Murder. There is never a shortage of wonderful, live entertainment both on and off the strip.

  3. Fremont Experience
This weekend was my first visit to the Fremont Experience., which is in Downtown Vegas. It is multiple blocks with live entertainment, bars, restaurants, zip line and a light show above the crowd. Loud and smoky but not to be missed!

  4. Bingo
Everytime I go to Vegas I play bingo, which is my thing. I even made my kids play bingo at 11pm on Thanksgiving when we spent the holiday in Vegas a few years ago. I usually play at the Gold Coast Casino. You can also play at the Plaza Casino. Bingo is serious business in Vegas!

  5. Touristy things:
Madame Tussaud’s Museum, The Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck at Paris, Riding the Gondola at the Venetian and The High Roller at the Stratosphere Hotel are just a few of the fun, touristy things to do.

  6. Shopping
Whether you are looking for designer or regular stores, Vegas is your place. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, The Shoppes at The Palazzo, The Miracle Mile Shops and The Fashion Show Las Vegas are a few of the places to get your shopping on. There are even outlets if you like to outlet shop. Be sure to leave room in your suitcase.

  7. Casino Hotels
Each hotel in Vegas has a different theme and it is fun just to walk through the beautiful lobbies and people watch.

  8. Monorail
A cheap, easy and quick way to get from 1 end of the Strip all of the way to the Convention Center

  9. Outside Shows
The Fountains at The Bellagio and The Mirage Volcano are free and offered daily.

  10. The Fabulous Welcome to Las Vegas Sign
This sign is not easy to find and I actually had a cab driver take me to it on the way to the airport. Definitely worth seeing!

Be sure to pack your walking shoes, bring your eating pants and leave room in your suitcase for all of you shopping.

There is still time to book a holiday or winter trip to Las Vegas.  Contact me and I will make it happen!
