Travel is back…
My husband and I just returned from our happy place: Walt Disney World in Orlando. Prior to the pandemic, we were annual passholders, but due to our move from North Carolina to Washington state, we did not renew our membership this year. We hadn't been to Disney since June 2019, which is a long time for the 2 of us. We were so excited to be there for the beginning of Disney's 50th Anniversary Celebration, which will be ongoing for the next 18 months. We stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which not only offers beautiful, updated accomodations, is walkable to the Magic Kingdom and has monorail access, we were even able to see the Electrical Water Pageant, which paraded across the lagoon and could be seen from our balcony. We love to eat and we had our favorite pizza at Via Napoli in Epcot, cobb salads and grapefruit cake at The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge and pasta at Enzo's Hideaway in Disney Springs. It was fun to see the new nighttime shows: Enchantment at the Magic Kingdom, Harmonious at Epcot and the Wonderful World of Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios. And we got to see the 50 gold statues that have been installed all around Walt Disney World to celebrate the anniversary. Best of all, we felt very COVID safe as everyone is required to wear masks inside every Disney venue. It was a perfect visit!
